About

Hi!

My Name is David Boliek and I’m a computer programmer living in the state of Washington. I’ve always wondered about the meaning of life and the feeling or sense that I have at times that there is something really wonderful going on and I’m somehow missing it.

I’ve had encounters with various people over the years that have impacted and changed me profoundly. Mostly these encounters didn’t involve deep theological discussions but just simple acts of kindness and grace directed towards me at just the right moment. Many times the right moment was when I didn’t expect it or when I deserved a different treatment.

I believe these encounters to be the hand of God working through people that have learned to be God’s love. I want to be like these people and I hope you do too.

Why Isaiah 12? It’s just one of my favorites and seems to sum things up in a beautiful way.

Enjoy!

Isaiah 12:1-6 (ESV)
1 You will say in that day: “I will give thanks to you, O Lord, for though you were angry with me, your anger turned away, that you might comfort me.
2 “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.”
3 With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
4 And you will say in that day: “Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted.
5 “Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth.
6 Shout, and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.”
